That video is nice and all, but the "law" the guy was looking for is called the "16th amendment".

I don't like taxes if they are being misused. And in our case they are misused. However I feel nothing wrong with paying taxes if they educate and provide things to help our society.

Like most things in life like, capitalism, politics, democracy; its not that I'm against these things, it is that they are being done wrong and need to be fixed.

Welcome to the working world.
Yeah, I become more and more fiscally conservative every year.

I just quit my job to go back to grad school. It'll be nice to get a huge refund from the gov't this year!

Oh, and you guys should try living/working in Philadelphia. . . I pay $310/month in taxes to the city alone! That's like having another car payment on top of fed and state taxes. . . except I don't get another car. I get a corrupt, idiot mayor.

I pay more in fed/state taxes now than I made total in my first year of working.

You think it sucks now, wait until you start being unable to deduct mortgage interest or other Schedule A deductions. Or lose Roth IRAs eligibility, or have an artificial caps put on your 401(k) contributions. Been nailed by AMT yet?

<rant>It is ridiculous how many ways I get nailed by the Feds and California. I'm sick of the atttude that "rich people" get all the breaks. Hell, I get far less breaks than most taxpayers and I certainly don't feel "rich". Especially in super expensive SoCal.</rant>

Our tax code blows donkey.
No Roth IRA allowed here......and our itemized ded. are limited and I have gotten AMT for the past 2 years.....

Luckily i live in "cheap living" PA, unlike expensive CA....

My $ goes a lot further than $ out there.

Unfortunately it sounds right.

I pay over $500 biweekly and I'm single and 24 so they really stick it to me for my first job out of college. I get soo upset and think man that's a roundtrip ticket to Europe! Or a car payment on a pretty nice car
