question for the geeks regarding burning CD's...
Using Nero, I came across a VCD I'd like to burn. Its in .cue/.bin format, and I'm quite used to that. However, with SOME of the .cue/.bin files, they require a certain media. i.e. - a CDR/CDRW instead of a plain jane CDR. Heck, I even tried one of my old CDRW only cd's and it recognizes that, but says, "nope, gotta have a CDR/CDRW".
Is there any work around to this?
And no.. binchunker doesn't seem to be working with this one.
TIA!

From what I understand, if the BIN or CUE files get renamed, they can no longer find each other. This could be the problem.
Try the "bin2iso" program. It doesn't have a pretty interface (DOS), but it will turn your bin and cue files into a single ISO file. You may have better luck with the ISO file.

nope, sorry DJ. this is a specific issue with a set of bin/cue files that are in perfect working order. they are not renamed, nor do I need to rename them. and binchunker nor any other bin extracting app work like the one you mentioned. I'm only looking for a possible solution - perhaps where the info can be changed, wherever it is stored for the media type.
Did you use Nero to encode the file? If you came across it and it was already in VCD format try re-encoding it but not with Nero. I use a program called TMPGEnc Media Encoder...
What I have found that also works is if its in VCD format already, burn it as a regular data file and it'll work as a VCD.

it was a downloaded cue/bin file - I'll check and see what I can do with Nero - that's what I've been using. I'll see if there are any other options to tweak with the files.
Also, if you have a VCD, its a .dat file - you can rename that to .mpg and it will play find through media player or just open the .dat file with media player. but thanks for understanding!
