Ours has nothing to do with our homeowner's policy. We have a separate "personal articles" policy through Travelers. I, personally, for the reasons I raised above, wouldn't want it attached to my homeowner's policy in any way. My $.02 worth.

I also have a personal articles floater of my wife's ring. It's cheap insurance in the event the ring is lost or stolen.
