Question for serious Diecast collectors
Hey folks,
For all you diecast collectors out there; how many of you are using a PC based inventory tracking system for your collection? My collection has grown to appx. 500 models, and I think it's about time I started to compile a database of my collection.
Which software would you suggest? Many online companies offer various products, however given my frugal nature, I'd prefer not to spend anything on my first attempt at organizing my collection.
With anticipation, someone can shed some light on this for me!
cheers
Asif

What scales do you collect? For my collection, I just made a table in MS Word with a column for:
Make (the make of car the model represents. Example: Subaru)
Model (the model of car the scale model represents. Example: Impreza WRC)
Model manufacturer (the company that made the scale model. Example: AutoArt)
Color
# (The number on the car if it's a race car)
Drivers (The driver(s) of the car as well as the navigator if it's a rally car. Example: M. Lovell, S. Turvey)
Sponsor (The companies that sponsor the car if it's a race car.)
And then a notes section where I put the edition number if it's a limited edition and other information that doesn't fit anywhere else.
