What environment (desktop OS and server OS)?
How many sites?
What proxy and firewall?
Are there multiple ways for users to get to 'net or all go through one machine?
What switches are you running?
Do you use SNMP management?
Gavin
Netmeeting is free and will allow you to remote control computers. It sounds like you are talking about a small scope and I would imagine you wouldn't need much more than that.
As far as tracking websites, there are a bunch of options out there. Building a proxy server would be ideal. But you may be able to find software solutions on the net if you look around.

thanks for all the answer
i am running on a windows network (mostly 2000 and XP) with about 15 work stations. i am trying to monitor the network via my win XP work station with administration login.
and i am trying to avoid building a proxi server
and i think i need more than netmeeting
any suggestion?

Firstly, have you looked at Microsoft's Systems Management Server 2003?
For remote access, is there any reason you don't want to use XP's in-built Remote Desktop support for taking control of other PCs?
If you want a remote control program but don't want to pay for it you should have a look at VNC.
If you just want to quickly peek at a PC's hardware configuration you can use the Computer Management MMC snap-in and connect to the remote machine. You can just right-click your own My Computer icon, pick Manage, right-click the Computer Management item the MMC list and select 'Connect to another computer. In the Computer Management snap-in there's a Device Manager item which will let you see the devices on that computer.

SMS should be your primary tool for inventory and remote control. The rest of the suggests are good as well.
