Default Question on wisdom teeth removal

OK, so I just had all four of these things taken out last friday. So far, I haven't had any swelling or pain or anything. I just have the WORST taste in my mouth all the time (blood or something). How the hell long does this crap last? If I have to eat too much more soup or Cream of Wheat, I'm gonna die! I successfully made it through some mac and cheese today for dinner, but anything more than that and we got pain problems. This is totally screwing with my normal diet (normally pretty healthy), and I don't have the energy I had before. How long did it take everyone to get back to eating solid foods when they had theirs taken out?

I had all four out at once and I was back eating solid food within about 4 days. I didn't have too much swelling, but I did have terrible aching in my jaws ..... when you do start on solids again, just be very careful not to eat anything too hard/sharp that might stick into your gums where your teeth were removed ..... that is VERY painful !!!!

Best of luck

Thanks for the advice, James. I'm eating some goldfish right now, and it's not bad at all. By the way, where the hell do you find time to have a PPD that high? Do you have a job?

Wow its kinda weird. I had all four of mine taken out and had no pain or swelling. I was eating foods the same day I had them taken out. I guess I was just lucky.

I had all 4 taken out at the same time. I had lots of swelling. It was about 4 to 5 days before I could eat solid foods. About a week before the pain went away. Hang in there and good luck.

When I had all 4 taken out, I had minor pain and swelling for a few days. Since my brother was getting married the week after, I didn't have much choice in what I could eat, so I ended up eating solid foods less than a week after. Rice was the worst... I had to pick those out with a plastic fork tine. Yum.

a week at most....however males heal quicker than females...

...if you dont have an bruising or pain then you might heal quicker than usual. The taste...well all you can do is swalow and hope it goes away unless they gave you a rinse to prevent infection that you put in your mouth with a giant siringe (gargling is too violent apparently) good luck and I hate you...just kidding but I took a good solid week and then didnt want to give up all the lovely codine because it helped me to feel better/fall asleep hehe.
