IT depends on how impacted your teeth are how much cutting they have do to as to the extent of your recovery. Did you have them pulled or did you have oral surgery to remove them.

I had all 4 severly boney impacted that kept my jaw from closing. I had to have oral surgery with anesthesia(sp?).

After the surgery I was given Demarol(sp?) and Oxycottin for pain. I was swolen for a week and it took almost a year for the holes to close up. You will be cleaning food out of those sockets for months.

I had the worst case scenerio. Getting my wisdom teeth out was a bitch!

I had all 4 taken out and it took about 3-4 days. But I had a lot of bruising around my jaw because the dentist was a ing brute.

the dentist used non-disolving thread on a couple of the holes and I kept trying to get rid of it using my tongue.

that's annoying.

Wow Clayman, it sounds like you're doing pretty good. I had all four of mine taken out some time ago, and had quite a bit of swelling. I ate bananas and soup for maybe 3-5 days. After that, I was able to slowly and tentatively eat solid foods.

Yup. It's like changing the pressure plate when you change the clutch disc...might as well get it all done and remove all the lil' buggers while you're in there.

Clayman...did they tell you to gargle with warm salt water? If not...go do it...several times a day. It will help with that bad taste, and help remove the blood that oozes and coats your throat.
