Default Ragged nerves

I just got home from putting together a contract to buy a house. I love the house and I hope like hell that I'm not overextending myself buying it...

Someone either say something to calm me down or give me a shot of something strong!

*laughs*

after looking at the house, which is within spitting distance from my place - literally - all I could think of is 'how many S2000's can fit in the driveway and on the street'? it looks like the place would be quite accomidating.

Thing is, I can see you in that place.

A house (especially in this day and time) is probably the best investment you can make. Go for it; interest rates are at an all-time low.

Every spare penny I get goes into some form of real estate. I'm always broke but I know I can always get my money back.

Sondra, if you can handle the payments go for it.

Hehehehehe
It's called "buyers remorse", and this is very normal. Relax Take a deep breath
Now a cold one

A house is a good investment, and better than paying someone elses mortgage.

I'm in the same boat- just signed an O&A for a house owned by a soon to be divorced couple. I'm not buying it for tax or investment purposes, rather my S2000 needs a warm garage to rest in. I'll sleep much better knowing my car is only 30 ft away while I dream about driving it.

Sondra,

Buying a house is always a exciting experience. It's a great responsibility but owning has great rewards. It's a source of pleasure, a permanant retreat to relax in. It provides you with equity and does your credit no harm. Helps to gives you a solid foundation to take care of lifes affairs. Meets an inner need that all of us have. Of course settles us and gives us responsibility and dicipline. Great investment in yourself and your peace of mind!!

It's a big step but one which is full of enjoyment and fond memories. Be excited about acquiring this house. I would, it's a place that you can call your own. Just to take a different perspective on the positive. It's just a thought away. I know everything is racing through your mind about, should I, will I, if,"remember you can!" That's the here and now! Everything else is your imagination and fears. Go ahead and take the plunge, the waters fine, com on in!! We just forget what it was like when we got our first toy as a child. You know what your earning ability is. Have a little faith in yourself. I do!! If I can, you can too. Use all that negative energy for something positive.

Makes me want to start lookin now!

Cheers

Jeff
