rainbird irrigation valve

Default rainbird irrigation valve
every year i have a one or more irrigation valves not working.

i replaced the valve solenoid coil (~10$) and all is good but is this a common problem?

Does it have to be rainbird? I had to replace the lever ball valve on one of my lines this spring. It was a generic one from the hardware store
