I don't mind outsourcing. They're just as big a group of incompetent douchebags as the douchebags I work with here.

In my case, let's make a few things PERFECTLY CLEAR:

1. If the meeting is in San Jose, CA at 10am, and you reschedule it at 11pm PST the night before to 9am PST, chances are good I will have JUST rolled into work (in San Jose) and whoever rescheduled can go F themselves.

2. If you change the 1pm EST meeting at 8pm EST the night before to 10am EST so as to not interfere with lunch, chances are good you can go F yourself.

3. If that pig-fer finance guy in Bangalore sends me another e-mail at 9am (his time) telling me he hasn't gotten an invoice from me, and then reminds me later that "day" at 4:30pm (his time) that he STILL hasn't gotten the invoice from me, he can definitely go F himself. . . come to think of it, his line manager can go F himself too.

Worse yet you call one of "those call centers" and the heavily accented employee tells you his name is Eric (Buy dot com CS rep). At least have some pride in your heritage and use your real name. Who the f_ck do you think your fooling by adopting a Nordic name? I posted about my adventure awhile back and a few here got all butt hurt because I railed on these people.

Outsource call centers, F that company I will pay more to speak to people who I can understand.

Sometimes it's ok, but if it's bad, it's really bad. I've had a few instances where either the call center person couldn't understand me, or I couldn't understand them... oh well.

I rather have well educated Indians on the phone, that dumb as a box of rocks Americans of certain persuasions. Calling up time warner and speaking to an "american" is a lot worse. If you can't find good labor here, I agree, find a country where you can.

There are plenty of "Americans" at customer help numbers that make me want to gouge my eyes out.

I'd rather take someone polite with a foreign accent.

And I don't mind speaking slowly and clearly and without "Americanized" English.

They don't teach "American" overseas.

Indian English is definitely NOT American English.

In person you can understand most of it, on the phone you can lose half or more.

I have a number of Indian clients I work with and they try to do everything in person because they are aware that they don't "translate" well on the phone.

Outsourcing parts is one thing, language isn't a criteria, but in drive thru lines a the Jack in the Box or call centers, UNDERSTANDABLE ENGLISH is the very first criteria?

Just had to deal with them again, this time they had phone problems to boot. Fawking Travelocity.

To further my point, I contacted Avis car rental customer service and Bank of America customer service today. No problems whatsoever.

Solution is simple. Stop doing business with companies like that.
