Default Really weird sleeping problem...

Ok. Well I'm sure some of you have heard about the temporary paralysis when you enter a certain stage of sleep, correct?

Well on pretty rare occasions, in the middle of the night I would "wake up" and not be able to move at all. I told my parents about this, and they said I was still sleeping/dreaming.

When people doubt you, you tend to doubt yourself.

Anyway, today I took a nap and it happened the most noticable to me where I know for a fact it happened.

I woke up, but was still not fully awake. My eyes were open and I can see my room perfectly fine. When I tried to move, I cant at all. I was paralyzed.

I managed to move my left arm about an inch or two and then it started shaking... I moved my right leg slightly, but still couldnt move.

Then all of a sudden, I snapped out of it... it was like when you wake from a bad dream and you take that deep breath, but I was already awake.

It was really weird because it was in the day time and I could see what was happening.

What could this be???

Just an episode of sleep paralysis. Its not a problem at all. Have you had any stress or disruption to your regular sleeping patterns?

I havent been getting as much sleep because of some business meetings but that is why I have been taking naps in the afternoon.

Cool. I thought about it too, but I was just worried.

Man do I get pissed when I can't move though.

A lot of my friends have a superstition that when that happens, there's a ghost sitting on you preventing you from moving, talking etc.

They feel completely conscious but they cannot do anything at all.

Used to happen to me really frequently. But I don't think it has happened in a while.

As others have said, it's nothing to worry about.
