The thing is, it was only 2 of their production lines that had any link to problems, but they've shut down the entire factory voluntarily as a result. Soon as they give the go-ahead I will be buying so much of their product because you know it's going to be the freshest, cleanest, safest stuff on the market.
Reminds me of when there was a water contamination issue in Walkerton, Ontario and people got sick and died. Since then Walkerton has had this stigma attached to it of having bad water but it's actually some of the cleanest and well maintained in the country. Once a company has an incident like that they simply can't afford to have another. This is a billion $+ mistake so far and I don't think it'll ever happen at Maple Leaf foods again.
They actually used to be one of my clients...I don't think I'll expect them to do much hiring in the near future, cept maybe for some Quality Assurance and Quality Control people.
