The following was sent out by someone at work recently (I'm sure it's one of those things that goes around every year at this time)...
According to the Alaska Department of Fish and Game, while both male and female reindeer grow antlers in the summer each year, male reindeer drop their antlers at the beginning of winter, usually late November to mid-December. Female reindeer retain their antlers till after they give birth in the spring.
Therefore, according to EVERY historical rendition depicting Santa's reindeer, EVERY single one of them, from Rudolph to Blitzen, had to be a girl.
We should've known... ONLY women would be able to drag a fat-ass man in a red velvet suit all around the world in one night and not get lost.
My rejoinder was as follows...
However, the Reindeer gestation period (according to http://www.koolpages.com/hokuspokus/lifespans.html) is 215 to 245 days, which means the female reindeer would be pregnant at the time of Santa's journey.
I think we all know the likelyhood of being able to take a trip with 9 pregnant women and stick to any kind of schedule. The bathroom stops alone would take 3 weeks!
