Don't think the recession is over...

job market still shedding thousands of jobs per day...

my industry is directly related to how the economy is doing, construction, and we aren't doing so hot right now...nobody is even with the stimulus, which I have yet to even see a job that has stimulus money on it....

I hope I am wrong but I think the market will drop again between now and February 2010. You have steady job losses, steady to increased spending, and the government is monetizing debt. Not a good scenario...they are barrowing from Peter, to pay Peter and Paul...lol. I shoudn't laugh really...i think its going to get worse..hope I'm wrong.

I agree with a lot of the above skepticism of the end of recession talk. That being said, if we do get this fail boat of an economy turned around anytime before 2012, we will see a lot more lawyers and government workers. In the tech fields, besides Apple and Google, I see biotech and telcoms growing strong.

I read somewhere that micro-robotics might be the next phase, since all the industrial jobs are going overseas....

arnie had to raise sales tax 1 percent due because of our deficit, guess he's trying to make up for all the money we DON't have. its kida sad to be here in california, a lot of things have been cut. i know education has been hit really hard you guys probably heard about the UC walk outs, the tuition went up 15 percent in fall and 15 percent again in spring and its because the state doesnt have money for the colleges. iono, california is sucking right now. as for next big industry, who really knows? i'm in healthcare so i guess whatever happens i'm supposed to be guaranteed a job although i find that hard to believe, its been 3 months since i graduated 1 month since i've become a registered nurse and still no one is hiring new grad nurses. screw the economy... i'm tired of this crap/ end rant

I'm not a conspiracy theorist, but I can't help but think Obama is setting us up for failure. Not trying to start an argument - time will tell, and prove me right or prove me wrong. I sure hope I'm wrong.

Sorry to go off topic - next industry - that's difficult to predict, but when we do recover, I'll say nano tech.
i have a friend studying microbiotics, from what he told me about nano tcehnology, it used to be called chemistry
