I rarely drink scotch, except when I'm in a ritzy group and "do as the Romans." Regardless of the quality and price it's always scotch and water to cut it a little bit as I tend to find scotch pretty harsh and not enjoyable in pure form. If I had to compare I'd much prefer rye to scotch, Crown Royal generally. Ribbon smooth

I don't know if I'm subconsciously considering money, but I tend to prefer MaCallan's 12 to their 18 year old.

So far, it's my favorite. I don't generally like Johnny...though I'll tolerate it.

Johnnie walker has always been cheap tasting to me. However, I don't mind their single malt, Green label. I haven't tried the blue.

considering it was my 1st purchase (bought it in 2005) - I'd say you're right! I am new to it other than I have decided that I like it (a single malt) over blended say Dewars or Chivas...

Um, Green is blended too. Not with their traditional malts, but with other malts.
