I have heard a pump should pump 3 times the size of the pond. So, for example my pond is approx 1500 gallons. Should I be upgrading my pump to a pump that will pump minimum 4500 gallons per hour? Seems like a lot, but maybe that is my problem.

With a bit of cooler weather this past week the pond has cleared right up.
