Default Hair Clippers

So I "buzz" my hair once every 2 weeks or so to keep it clean. I'm in need of a new set of clippers since my current ones leave a few long hairs here and there no matter how many times I seem to go over it. So I'm looking for a new set and had no ideas on brands or where to get them. I assume the old ones can't be sharpened?? For the new ones, should I just go to a beauty salon and see what they have?

Wahl has always been a good brand.
I've had various sets of Wahl trimmers and they've lasted great with a little bit of oiling every now and again.

Andis is the standard for clippers.

Powerful motors, quiet operation, great quality.

Oster classic and a couple sets of blades. Best clippers out there.

I just buy a cheap one at Target for about $15. Don't know who makes them. When it goes I buy a new one but even the cheap ones last quite a while.

i have a cordless Panasonic er153, i have my wife cut my hair very short and its built in setting works well for this. ive been using this for about a year no problems. this unit tends to not leave much behind, does a fine job.

the Oster 197-01e i have seems always to need new blades, its more of a spot trimmer than the Panasonic

I replace mine every few years, I just pick up whichever one they have at Costco... I prefer clippers that have DC motors to the AC ones, and never really liked Wahl or Oster because they don't seem to get as close as Panasonic or Conair (I shave my head with no guard every few days)...

i've had my Oster clippers for at least 12 years, still work like they were brand new. never changed the blades or done any kind of repairs.
