Default recommend a whey protein

my local shop messed up my visa card this month and their shelves are bare (whey protein is a main stay for a nutrition shop). done with them. i want to buy on line so:
-i am using this for a diet so not into alot of calories, -something like 120calories for 30grams
-i mix it with crystal lite so vanilla will work
-what has functional taste, lo calories???

thanks everyone to chime in::: brand_of_vanilla_proein + where_to_buy_online

I would go with Opimum Nutrition Gold Standard 100% Whey. Every flavor is great, but I've been using the French Vanilla Creme recently. Every one that tries this stuff loves it.

$39.99 here for the large jug (5lbs) which is around $65 at a retail store, so its a great deal.

I tried every protein out there and the Opimum Nutrition is the one I stuck with. Great flavors and taste. Its 24grams of protein per scoop with little calories and carbs. good stuff

I was using Designer, but I can't stand the taste of that Vanilla...I just bought some of the Optimum since I was out.

My personal favorite (non-whey) is muscle milk, it is a little high in calories for everyday use, but I love it for a breakfast shake or the like, tastes like a real vanilla shake if you make it with milk.

muscle milk is hit or miss with how it works with the body i have found. me and two other guys that worked at a nutrition store used it for a week and everytime it "went right through" all three of us so we stopped using it.

Same here. That and muscle milk. If you aren't bulking only take a single scoop of the muscle milk before you go to sleep.

I take creatine and two full scoops of muscle milk every night before I go to sleep. I'm 175lbs 5'10 and flat bench reps of 225, I know it's helped because I simply couldn't get enough calories without it. My decline bench is my specialty though because my shoulders give me problems on flat. I'm repping 3X5 of 250lbs decline bench, don't think I would have progressed as quickly without the creatine and alternative forms of protien. Not enough time to eat real food.
