This is a reminder to register to vote, if you have moved or never registered before. It's part of your civic duty as a citizen, and makes our democracy stroger. Don't be apathetic, everyone gets one vote and you should exercise it.

I volunteered for the polls in Northwood in Irvine, CA. It's gonna be a long and thankless day.

 

Please note that the OP was only talking to smart people. Dumb people shouldn't be allowed or encouraged to vote. Or reproduce for that matter.

 

Because as long as you check a box, or pull a lever, or stick your ballot in the mail box it doesn't matter how the government is organized? How can you even know if what the politicians put in front of you to vote on is legal if you don't understand the nature of the government you live under?

I can't agree that everyone should just vote and that's fine and people who bring up things like the structure of government are "buzzkills." In an ideal world everyone would be informed and vote - this is not what we have. I am absolutely not saying people should not vote, I'm saying that people who don't take the time to actually understand what they are voting on and how it relates to the structure of the government they live in don't make things better.
