Default Removing your wisdom teeth...

Just curious to see how many people choose what way to pull them out. Personally I'm terrified of dentists but have no choice but to do this soon...

I had two that were impacted.

Went with the general and all 4 at once. Blood all over my t-shirt. You really don't want to go twice, do you?

Good Luck!

I'm with lig. Get them all done at once. No way you'll want to go back. Not all of mine were impacted and I was knocked completely out---that's the only way to go IMO.

(BTW, I have a serious dentist phobia, too. If I made it, anyone can! )

General anaesthesia and all 4 at once here. It's a very easy procedure. One minute you're laying there and the dentist is talking to you, and the next minute, you awaken with your wisdom teeth missing. You then proceed to stumble around like an idiot until the drugs wear off, which can be somewhat entertaining. The only pain in the ass is the recovery. Make sure you enjoy eating plenty of yummy food before the procedure, because you'll be eating bland liquidy stuff for a few days afterward.

P.S. My ex-girlfriend had all 4 taken out under just local anaesthesia and said it wasn't too fun. I don't doubt her. I'd definitely go for the general.

Get all four done at the same time and here is the best advice I can give you:

USE AN ORAL SURGEON NOT A DENTIST!!!

Everyone who uses a dentist has huge emotional scars from the event

Poeple who use an Oral Surgeon just have a headache and remember trying to count backwards from a hundred...

100.99... damn where are my teeth!

I had all four done at once with local anesthesia by an oral surgeon.

Impacted teeth: If the tooth travels in the wrong direction, if its progress is blocked by another tooth, or if it is stuck in dense bony structures of your jaw, the tooth becomes impacted.

An impacted tooth is one that does not break through the gum. Impaction most often occurs with the third molars (wisdom teeth) or other teeth in the back of the mouth. The front and side teeth rarely become impacted.
