Maybe this is just semantics, but millions of people are not downloading music from me(yes, I'm guilty of downloading music off the net...it's a good way to sample music b4 I go out & buy the CD).

i went to fye yesterday and cds are ing 20$ now in nyc... if a cd were 10 bucks and a good amount of that money went to the artist id buy the cds but at 20$ each and like 50c going to the artist, it just aint worth it

 

This is an extremely complicated issue. My feelings are mixed but let me throw a couple of things out:

- It's ILLEGAL to collect ANY information about children on the Internet without their parent's consent. The fact that the RIAA collected information and/or monitored the activity of a 12 year old girl is illegal.

- The RIAA tried to get legislation passed that would allow them to come into your computer over the Internet and damage it if they thought you were d/ling music. Oh, and if they were wrong they would not be held liable. Fortunately, our politicians aren't quite corrupt enough yet to allow that kind of law to pass.
