well, the thread got off topic cause the op wanted mis-use of the word rice in the car scene in terms of what mods are good or bad. however, the word rice shouldnt even be used to describe good or bad modifications.
its gen. agreed that good mods are not "rice" but bad mods are "rice". so there is already a neg. connotation to "rice". therefore the word rice is demeaning because it's tied to something unfavorable, and also tied to asians. can ppl of other ethnicities "rice" out their car? yes, but what ethnic group comes to mind first?
saying "rice" is not any different than saying "redneck". A tuned japanese car fast or not can be considered rice, but the same ignorance can be applied to a domestic.
in the end, there is a better way to coin a badly tuned car and a good one. I like to say accessorize vs tuning. the op is already wrong in that it wants to denote what mods are "rice"
