Rich Dad Poor Dad
I just read "rich dad poor dad" about 3 weeks ago..... checked it out for free at the library also..... I learned nothing as well.
I love how people throw around examples...."i put $2k down on some vacant land, had it divided into lots before I took possession and sold 7 of the lots for $2M each and netted $13,998,000 on a $2k investment and have a lot for myself"....
Just like those "i bought this house for $345 at a tax sale, free and clear"..... there may be one house per year in the entire USA that actually gets purchased for something low like that but finding it is impossible.
I agree that all of these guys are all about making $ by selling books. Just like the Amway / Quixtar / etc...
I have been reading all of the John Grisham books that I missed. I read 'the firm', 'pelican breif', etc.... about 10 years ago........ I have now read 4-5 books in the past few months (painted house, bretheran, summons, x-mas, now rainmaker)....entertaining at least....

amazing non-fiction cold war stories from an insider: "At the Abyss" b Thomas C. Reed
amazing non-fiction cold was submarine espionage stories: "Blind Man's Bluff" by Sherry Sontag, Christopher Drew, Annette Lawrence Drew
my bibles (when I need to read them): "Art of War" by Sun Tsu, "Book of Five Rings" by Miyamoto Musashi
excellent book on value investing: "The Little Book that Beats the Market" Joel Greenblatt (I'm up close to 50% this year, thanks in large part to this book
)

the game he sells "rat Race" is actually fun to play.
the whole passive income thing works well on paper, but unless you have a ton of start up capital and knowledge and time, you will fall on your face.

If you want non-fiction (or close to it), try some first-person biographies. I just read "The Fourth Hourseman" - it's the life story of Doc Holliday, written by someone else (duh - it's a biography) but from Holliday's point of view. Pretty interesting. I've done that with a number of those guys and they're always interesting.

There, Clawhammer owes me $26.95 for my financial advice.
You want to read an incredibly funny book... "The Game: Penetrating the Mind of a Pick-Up Artist". It is hysterical. I still didn't get to finish reading it, but I've read maybe like a 1/3 of it, and it has me laughing the whole time.

Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six. Best book I ever read...also one of the longest at almost 1000 pages (hardcover)

I wish he'd do a sequel or something similar.
