It is great to hear from a knowledgeable fan of "REAL" Roller Derby. You reflect my sentiments exactly.
I've skated in 4 or 5 different leagues, done TV shows, and have been a member of the United States All-Star Team, and I have to say that American Roller Derby SUCKS when compared to the way the Japanese play the game. I know that many fans like the storylines and WWF crap, but I don't. The Japanese play a very "legit" game, and their skaters are extremely talented. I believe that the majority of the Japanese are better skaters than our players, but we always win because we are bigger, and just physically beat the crap out of them.
I was seriously thinking about moving to Japan to become a regular player in the Japan League, but I had a few incidents happen, on and off the track, and I doubt they want me back.

I will be returning to Japan ASAP. I can't wait to visit the Kodokan again. I really fell in love with the country and people on my last visit, however, I start Anesthesia School in August (for 2 Years) so it will be difficult. And I won't be wearing skates this time! -Pete
