I am guessing a majority of these people have no idea what Windows has to offer and just bought a Mac because of very good marketing from Apple. Which I must admit, almost had me switching to the dark side just to find out what the fuss was all about.

We can just agree to disagree as I don't care much to put any more energy into defending something which I really have no interest in. I just don't think a thread about Windows XP going away should attract a bunch of people telling everybody they need a Mac.
So, they had Windows, but have no idea what Windows has to offer? Were they in some way ignorant? I think they found out what Windows has to offer and fled to another OS.

Sounds fine to me, I don't have much interest in defending Windows either. I agree with your original post though - XP isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

I personally feel overall the PC / windows is more powerful but harder to use at the same time where as mac is much more user friendly but (IMO) not as powerful.

Thats why more people are switching over to macs, its very easy to use as compared to windows, plus macs are "stylish" now-a-days.
