The Mecca of BBQ, that is...only at Kreuz's Market in good ol' Lockhart Texas, 30 miles outside of Austin. Everything is smoked, no sauce, no utensils besides knives. Side "dishes" include whole tomato, 1/4 onions, slice/slab of cheddar cheese, delicious pickles...lots of napkins and cold freaking beer...dayum, I'm hungry again. I should buy a house in Lockhart...

You can check out their web site at http://www.kreuzmarket.com ... and if anyone would like to overnight me some, PM me for my home address... BTW, the name is pronounced like "krites" ... the restaurant has been around 100+ years...try it and you will understand why!

The Arrival...

The Manna -- notice the succulent poke chops...they are magnificent!

The Aftermath...

And of course, a very full Sondra...

Never been to Kreuz's but I'll have to go next time I'm down in Austin. We used to got to a place in Fulshear called Dozier's. Fulshear is north west of Houston kind of on the way to College Station. They used to have some mighty fine barbeque and great beef jerky.

Hope we can make it next time. I'm still partial to Coopers in Llano.

You have been officially christened as a bona fide BUBBAs, or in Greg's case (since he lived in Texas before), a born-again BUBBA! If you guys are ever in the Metroplex, I'll treat you to Angelo's in fort Worth. A beer joint turned BBQ palace extraordinaire! It advertises itself as having the coldest beer in town.

Hey, BBQ (SC style) is the best, but have you ever smoked your nuts?

Greg, you suck. They are closed on Sundays, and now I'll have to wait until Monday to go down there to get me more "poke chops"...

Kruez's is good, but the best BBQ I've ever had is Cooper's in Llano...as an added bonus, the roads out there are much more fun than the route to Lockhart as well. Maybe we'll have to organize a group drive out there sometime?
