road trip!! SF Bay Area, CA --> Boulder, CO... suggested sights/drives?
my gf and I are going on a road trip sometime in April from SF to Boulder, Colorado because I've always wanted to check out CO, specifically the Boulder area. along the way we'll be passing through Nevada and Utah, and may swing up to Wyoming as well.
any suggested places to visit? or particularly beautiful drives to get us off the monotony of the Interstate hwy?
we'll probably go for 6 or 7 days, and plan to spend atleast a full day exploring the Boulder, CO area. we're not huge gamblers btw, so we won't be spending any time in casinos. this trip is going to be all about top-down sunshine cruising through beautiful countryside in a beautiful car with an absolutely gorgeous and wonderful girlfriend. in other words, what S2000 ownership is all about!
all input/suggestions welcome! particularly places to see, places to sleep, places to eat (she's a vegetarian)... as well as places or routes to avoid, if you know any.

Depending on how far into WY you're willing to drive, the Tetons and Jackson Hole and Yellowstone are fantastic--but a long way.
As far as Utah, there's Bryce Canyon, Glen Canyon, and Zion--all are beautiful. Salt Lake City is worth a look.
In Colorado there's Pike's Peak and Garden of the Gods--although last April we couldn't get up Pike's Peak due to the snow. You could also catch a Rockies game.
Decide on your route and then do some research on what's close.

I did the SF to Denver drive recently. You might enjoy hopping onto US 50 in Nevada, "the lonliest road in America."
The entire drive is beautiful, with the exception of the I-80 stretch through Wyoming, the southern I-70 route is a bit more entertaining.
Have fun in Boulder, it's an unusual place. Damn hippie-crits.

I went to school in Boulder. f-ing beautiful. Go to Estes Park while you are there, about 20 miles from Boulder into the hills. Also, you can go Gamble at the indian Casino's at "Black Hawk" also about 15 mi from Boulder. Take the drive over Loveland Pass down into Breakenridge. Also go up to the "flatirorns" park and take the 1/2 hour hike to the top great views, its an easy hike. "Pearl Street" is where all the stores are, an open market.
Kick ass restaurants whe you are in boulder:
5 star gourmet with an amazing view of the town "FlagStaff" but $$$.
Red-fish, great bar and seafood.
Ras-Kasa, cheap and something you have never had before, probably my favorate restaraunt in the country.
Jax-seafood and martini bar is sooo good.
breakfast is "the Buff" downtown or "north Boulder Cafe" it looks like a truck stop, but sooper good food.
Lunch- "creekside deli" you have to go to this place for sandwich
Sushi- HAPA is some of the best americsn style sushi ever.
Pm me if you have questions.

hey that Hwy 50 suggestion is a good one!
anything to keep my S away from the monotony (and pebble-hurling wheels of the big rigs) on US 80.
thanks for all the input guys. :taking notes, Googling, & playing with mapquest:
