My wife and I had the pleasure of sharing a bottle of very good wine with him when he was 90 years old. He was a very interesting man and we very much enjoyed the evening we spent with him.

w00w! He donated a performance art center to my school (University of California, Davis). Apparently, the contract for the donation said he will give the actual money when he passes away, so the school fronted for the building project first. I guess that time is up.

He makes some pretty good cheap wine. The reisling is the best under $20.

I think it was thew 2003 Cabernet Costal Resrerve thats pretty darn good for what was an original $20 bottle. (might be 2002) but if there is any left its up to about $55 a bottle now.
