lots of people are always talking about the glamour of nyc. does it make any sense to you? imo, the island is all that is wrong with humanity packed into a couple of blocks.

nyc is good for the nightlife, there is always somebody willing to get drunk with you. other than that it is a dirty place and the weather sucks. visit but dont live there.

What are those blocks? 110-118? I might agree with that....

NYC is a huge city with tons of stuff to do. I'd never live there, but its fun to visit.

Having lived in NYC metro for 3 years I can say this with first hand experience. Its terrible to live there. Expensive, crap weather, people are rude, super crowded, traffic all the time, everything is old, etc, etc, etc.. I guess if you love crowded places and dont mind paying up the ass for everything then its all good. I however enjoy sun and things that arent 150 yrs old

Its tons of fun to visit but I really dont understand why people would choose to live anywhere near that area.

I lived here for 20 years now and during those 20 years, I've gone away for school and work in other states. I would have to say, NYC sucks. My preference would be Southern California for the dry weather and its relaxed culture. Sadly, I'm back in NYC. But once the economy picks up, I'm going to try to head back out to SoCal.

It's just a few blocks further.

NYC is great to visit...like all good things...in moderation. Of course, I just love being in any large city...I think the sub-culture is amazing! Other than that...I would never live in or near NYC.

I lived in the NYC area most of my life and used to live in the upper west side for a while before I moved to FL. I completely agree that the weather in NYC is horrible. But, not everybody is rude. I made lots of friends after college and still maintain close relationships with them today. I find for the most part, people from NYC are genuine and not phony like Miami, SF, or LA. Actually, I find the people in Miami to be more rude than NYC.

Am I glad I glad I left NYC for FL? Absolutely!

Do I love NYC? Absolutely! I always will. It's where I grew up and I loved living in Manhattan.

NYC is truly one of the greatest cities in the world, IMO. There is so much culture there and is a true melting pot. Plus, there are many smart people living in NYC, always hustling to make it and I appreciate that. The hotel bars, the restaurants, the museums, central park, I can go on. What is also great about NYC is that everything is so convenient. I left NYC because it's not conducive to my lifestyle. I love the sun, warm weather, the beach and NYC does not offer any of that, while cities like Miami, San Diego, and LA do.

NYC ... definitely fun to visit, but not pleasant place to live. Weather is terrible. Roads are bad, and actually a lot less convenient than it looks.

The food's the biggest thing I miss about it ... (lived there for 4.5 years)
