Default Roger Clemens

Let me put this question out there without giving away my feeling......

Does anyone out there believe he in not a giant lying sack of crap?

I don't care one way or another what happens to the guy, but it would be refreshshing to have one of these guys, Clemens, Bonds, whomever to come out and say........

"You got me. I cheated. I cheated. I cheated. But I made a ton of money, it was lots of fun and you can't take that away from me. I don't care about records. I am rich b*thces!"

I'm listening to the testimony right now. Very interesting. Clemens sounds full of shit but McNamee isn't inspiring confidence either.

I don't want to make McNamee out to be a great guy but I find his actions totally explainable.

Bonds trainer is doing time, I would guess because Bonds has promissed to take care of him or is paying him hush money to him through a third party.

But if you are McNamee you know one thing, you are doing something illegal, and you are providing a service to an egomaniac multimillionaire who will throw you under the bus as soon as things go bad. And he will have the best team of lawyers money can buy to crucify you. You need to save whatever evidence you can to protect yourself.

He is a roids peddler, but at the same time, he is not a high paid guy who was facing prison. What most people do not understand about this is that McNamee was found to be selling roids.

He was told "We will put you away unless you cooperate and if we find out you told us any lies you are going to prison. Tell us what you know and get immunity"

He could have covered for Clemens, but if they found out through other means Clemens got drugs from him he would be toast. Prisoners dilema, he does not know what other info they had. His only way to avoid prison was to tell the truth. And what he says about Petitte was true. Petitte admits it. Why would he make up stuff about Clemens if it meant risking prison?

I would love to see Clemens go down in a big pile of steaming crap. He is a greedy bastard and deserves the hate.

i'm still curious why the federal gov. is involved in baseball, or any sports. why are our tax dollars funding investigations to see if athletes cheated or not? let baseball handle baseball's problems

Because its illegal drugs? Not to mention if you don't have the appearance that is a clean industry, you send the message to high school kids, get some roids and you will make millions!!!!! Creates more problems.

Now we do have bigger fish to fry I agree, but you can't totally ignore this either.

And the point has been made, before someone comes in and makes a giant Iraq war speech. Thanks.

not true. steroids and HGH are given all the time with prescription. how many times have athletes been DQed for medications that were perfectly legal, jut not allowed in their given sport? they're just not allowed in baseball. that's baseball's problem, not the government's

i'm just sick of all this BS...canseco, palmeiro, bonds, marion jones, spygate...these are games, folks. high revenue, but games nonetheless

There you go. While the athletes are just playing the games, baseball and all major sports are very large businesses subject to government regulation.

isn't that kind of like saying it's the government's job to police my company's attendance policy?

in NASCAR, when crew chiefs cheat, and get caught, do they go to prison? no, they get fined and put on probation by NASCAR
