i just got a new rolex but i don't wear it every day. on the average, how long will your rolex keep ticking if you don't wear it? also, do any of you all have those rotating watch winders? i was told you had to get one that rotates counterclockwise then clockwise. any truth to that?

My Omega Seamaster has a 44 hour reserve.

When not wearing (or when wearing my Fake Rolex ) I keep it in my Orbita Winder

Orbita makes one of the least expensive winders (I got mine from some website for <$300) & they're based in Wilmington, NC.

My Rolex????? Hey, I do have a Rolex!!! I went digging in my desk and found it at the bottom of the drawer. It wasn't running, so it won't last more than a 5 months on a single wind (last time I wore it). However, I did give it a good wind, watched it run for a few moments, and then buried it in the bottom of the drawer again. Man I hate wearing jewelry!

Behold the hibernating Rolex:

I have a Folex and sometimes its hands just spin around like crazy biatches. It would stop when I slam it against the wall. Is Folex on par with Rolex? It should be.

You have found one of the main reasons that people who rotate watches should think twice before buying an automatic watch.

I rotate between 4 watches depending on what I'm wearing and how formal the occasion is, because of this I have opted to not get automatic winding on any of my watches.

Since you already have the watch, a auto winder as linked above would be a "must-have" for you. Unless of course you enjoy resetting your watch occasionally.

um, setting a watch once a week or so is not a big deal, unless you have a screw-down crown or a bajillion complications. I guess if you are so out of shape that you get out of breath setting a watch...

I would only be concerned if I had to unscrew the crown all the time.
