loki,
Do you have the G4 iMac? Someone's been trying to turn the desktop-spanning feature on for the iMac. Apparently on the newer iBooks (with the Radeon Mobility video) the ability to desktop span is there but Apple turned it off. Someone figured out how to turn it on

I think the iMac is the same way, Apple just turned it off. doesn't it use the Radeon chipset too?

Oh and my info

Which Apple: 12.1 iBook (Dual USB, 500MHZ, DVD--the first white one!)
How long have you had the computer? 09/01
How long have you used Apples? First one
How do you like it (personal preference): OSX is great, acts just like UNIX (I use Solaris at work), having X-Windows support is cool, OpenOffice works great!
Only gripe is that the G3 is slow, I like the G4 but the iBook is much sturdier then the Powerbook!

Name: Marclw

Which Apple: Mac G4 867 mhz

How long have you had the computer? About a year.

How long have you used Apples? Since 1984.

How do you like it? I think Macs are the best thing since sliced bread. New OS X is fantastic! It's stable as a rock. If the world adopted Macs as the standard, thousands of IT troubleshooters would be out of work and would be producing something useful to our economy. I live and work in a PC world and have experienced Windoz in all of its versions. If it wasn't so aggravating, I'd be dead from laughter.

I need to get an Airport card for my iMac. I'm actually using my Dell PC (which isn't that bad, I am just spoiled by OS X. PC's do come in handy actually (sometimes)) for internet right now.

WIFI really is nice isn't it, luckly the new powerbooks have the option to have it built in and you get to keep your card slot, I highly recommend this.

The powerbooks seem to travel worse then the ibook's but if you need power and any form or mobility they really are the best.

The new powerbooks (with the monitor slot) have always been able to use a external moniter as a extended desk space, my local store has it running like that right up front on one of the new 21 studio displays.
