you're living with them, the agreement was (i'm sure) that you guys split the bills.

Start using more for yourself. Like just run the water all day long or take 10 showers a day yourself and see what they say.

then go from there, but that's a conflict that sucks. I would think you have to pay 1/4 no matter what.

yeah, they should pay more for living with you...but seriously, I would ask them to pay more since they do use more of the utilities and if it starts a conflict, then you should move out.

Quasi-boyfriend = Nice guy that deals with my sh!t, but has no idea how to fix a front bumper

Seriously though, call a house meeting. I did that in college when things got out of hand. We had a problem with people that were not on the lease that were living in the house (i.e. girlfriends), that would not pay their share of the utilities. Sit down and talk to them about it. I would not criticize their laundry habits, but I would show them some of these facts and figures that you culled from your research. If they cared 2 cents about others, they'll see your point.

Best of luck C

you could always roofie them and send them down to Mexico in a coffin, so when they wake up they have to figure out a way to come back home and...

oh wait, that's just my movie idea.

I think the info on how much the bill actually is would be helpful. If they are asking you to pick up an extra $10 to $15 bucks, just let it die until you find a better situation in which to live. Otherwise you run the risk of listening to them bitch about every little thing YOU do that drives them nuts and creating an unhappy sanctuary.

You might not think there is anything, but I guarantee you they have a list. I t kind of sounds as though it is not just the money that is bothering you, it is also just the fact they always run the things, and they make noise, you don't get to use them when you need to, and it is getting on your nerves.

If that is the case, let it go. And since this place is not where you see yourself being in five years, where do you want to be and are you following a plan to get there?
