When I get close to the accident and I see the clear lanes ahead I start going crazy. Peopel get the message and start going faster.

I concur with the above (which includes the pink bunny comment ) ...it seems that people that had to wait in such traffic feel entitled to gawk as they get their turn to pass the scene of incident.

It's amazing that an accident is not typically the cause of traffic, but it's the gawkers that cause major backups...
