New Motorola V710 Phone - opinions or info?
What do you guys think about the new Motorola phone that should be out soon.

I'm looking to replace my aging (and dying V60), does anyone have any opinions on this phone? Any news on price of availability date? The only thing I would like to see in a phone that this one does not have is a AM/FM receiver (I know, it's lame, but I like AM radio as well!).

They say sometime this month. But it was supposed to be out last month. I just hope they don't try to jack up the price (as I am sure they will). I may have to hold off until this thing drops in price!

Hold off on the price drop if you can. I remember about 2 years ago I got a new phone (the week it came out) BIG MISTAKE.... one month later they were dropping the price to 149.99 (it was 199.99) with a mail in rebate, a month after that it was 149.99 with a instant rebate... a month later 99.99 after rebate. now its something like 49.99.
I know its been 2 years, but the biggest thing that determines a price drop is if a competitor comes out with a similar phone for cheaper. Look at sprint, verizon, and cingular (the big 3) and see if they have bluetooth phones coming out within a month of that, if so I am pretty sure that Nextel will drop it in price.

This phone will be a verizon phone. "IF" the phone is only $199, I would be astonished. I couldn't imagine this phone being much less than $500 WITH a contract agreement.
It's only a matter of time before cell phones will be everything rolled into a small package. Kind of like a small PC that can hook up to wireless internet connections, bluetooth connections to monitors, printers, and other phones. The blue tooth connection could hook up to the stereo in your car or at home just by having it in your pocket with 1000s of mp3s in it.
Howabout having a video recorder handy for what than all abusing cop pulls you over? Video phones showing the person your are talking to, or conference call, GPS to see where you are, GPS to see where your KIDS' are, portable XM radio, portable Direct TV and enough hard drive space to hold the latest movies for later playback.
The ideas are limitless.
