yeah i hate the shox.
made my ankles hurt and since i valet for a job i am always switching shoes.
i am currently using new balance 992,......kind of a grandpa shoe but they are recommended by some doctors thats why you see old guys using them.

I agree with the above that you should go to a good store to get properly fitted. For myself I have tried the NB and find that they do not give enough cushion. I have been a fan of the Nike Air 360. Good shoe for a heavy heal striker.

I bought some Nike Shox when I was goin thru rehab and they were pretty decent, but I have to agree with everyone else New Balance are great. They're lightweight and breathable.

Asics Nimbus are comfortable and will begin to rot before they fall apart .
(Basically rot as in show inside wear from running and stuff. They will last you like 1k+ miles of running)

I personally like Mizuno's. I recently bought the Wave Inspire 5's and it's my favorite running shoe to date. Like others have said, get a gait analysis, and try on a bunch of different shoes.

I run around 10 mi a week training for my olympic tri, and those shoes have definitely made running more enjoyable.
