RX7 vs S2000 thoughts?
I don't have any really as I never owned an RX7 or driven one (at best I was taken for a spin). Though Sime, you've had both cars so can you give us some thoughs on how they compare? I'm guessing that things would be close but would not be surprised if the RX7 was actually still quicker (point to point in particular).

I owned an 84 GSLSE. Fun to drive, but no where near the excitement I get from my stook. IIRC, the GSLSE had a "b" engine, which was somewhat more powerful than the regular rotory. I found it very reliable and loved the way it hummed.
A friend of mine just sold a '94 RX7 TT. The car is one of the best "pure" sports cars of recent memory. The car is not heavy (the same as the S2000), the handling is very good and it is faster than the S2000. The car can easily be modified to produce lots of hp. However, they are very tempermental and you do need a good mechanic to own one.
On a 2-mile roadcourse he would pull out about 7-8 car lengths on the longest straight (I would hit fourth gear on the straight, the speed was from about 45-100) but I would catch him through the twisty section (driver vs driver). given equal drivers the RX7 is a faster car. On a more open track such as Road America (4-miles) the RX7 would have a bigger advantage due to its power favorability. He would hit 135mph on the long straights at RA, while I could get to about 120-125, quite an advantage.
They are great cars and I would love to have one if I could afford another car. Maint. is the problem with these cars.
