It's worse than that Muz. I think it's Queensland slang, and I think the word is just "mull".

Yes, like Omar Abdel Rahman, the blind mullah who engineered the 1993 bombing of the World Trade Center, and who failed in his plan to blow up the Lincoln Tunnels so that the waters of the Hudson River could wipe clean those tubes of infidels. This mullah also put his imprimatur on the assasination of Anwar Sadat for his unpardonable sin of making peace with Israel.

Mullahs all over the world are now calling for Jihad, a religious obligation to engage in armed, violent struggle against the enemies of Islam.

Mullah might be a Pharsi word, means teacher - religious leader.

You're probably right, since I know its not Arabic or Islamic. Not Islamic in the sense that Mullah is not a rank/status you earn once at a certain religious level.

Hi Shamma

Actually, "Mullah" definitely refers to an Islamic teacher, religious leader. I think it's a step below an Ayatolah.

Whereas I support this action I can't help but feel sorry for those we call 'colateral'.

I'm with you there. Interesting - we hope to kill no innocents, and for the Islamic extremists, they attempted to kill only innocents. For them, there are no innocents. World of difference don't you think?

Hello 2x6spds,

Since you seem so sure then I guess you're right. Its just that I've been a Muslim all my life and I never heard of the term Mullah, I know of other terms for those who know the religion and teach it. Ayatolah is not a rank either, I think its actually two words; Ayat Allah, which literally means The Verse of Allah (as in a verse from the Quran, I think).

Besides I don't like to think of any of those, who claim to be Muslims, convicted of terrorist acts as Muslims. The religion itself is very peaceful and tolerant, just like all the other religions out there. Terrorist acts were never Islamic justified, despite what some crazy sick individuals may claim.

That's nice to know. Just seems to be a lot of that going around. Suicide bombers, folks who leave bombs in shopping centers, pizza parlors, folks who fly airliners full of men, women and children into office buildings, folks who cut the throats of flight attendants, blow up embassies, hijack cruise ships, shoot old guys in wheel chairs and then throw the body and chair into the Mediterranean, blow up discos full of off duty US servicemen in Germany, kill Israeli athletes in the Olympic Village, shoot up a nursery full of infants in Ma'alot, etc. It seems to be a well established way of doing business and dealing with disappointments and discontents.
