I'm redoing my site, again (it's too plain), so I'm doing a poll to see what you guys usually use in terms of resolution. thanks.

Webtrends.com is an excellent tracking system. For the month of march (all 16 days)folks browsing the club site:

Stats for resolution:

1600x1200 = 2.27%
1280x1024 = 8.02%
1152x864 = 4.54%
1024x768 = 38.72%
800x600 = 32.55%
640x480 = 2.30%
Other non-standard 11.60%

and 9000 hits this month. WHOOO HOOO

I use all the resolution I can get. 1600x1200 as long as I'm not on the laptop (like now)...

Mingster,

Don't mess with it! You got a good thing, easy to use, easy to find stuff, I'm very farmiliar with it.

I used to constantly visit and submit stuff for a board for my Kubota Tractor. The moderator(obviously with more aspirations than common sense) decided to try to cover other brands. The board became a total pain to navigate, haven't been back since and miss it.

If it ain't broke don't fix it!!!!!! Except to make it faster.

IMHO, Gene

ps did I mention don't mess with it?

Even if I'm running at a high monitor resolution, I don't like web sites that are much wider than 640 pixels because it's not the only window I have open. I HATE and avoid wide format sites. But they still need to be legible at 1280x1024.

For example: Muz's website is a nice width, but the small type is completely unlegible.

Yes, I can force my browser to increase the font size. But I shouldn't have too.

I do 1280x1024 or 1600x1200, but never browse fullscreen.

OK, there's the proof. Most folks use 1024 x 768, some use even larger. So from now on let's do away with those postage-stamp size wimpy graphics!
