S4 rollover track video
Nimbus,
AWD isn't magic -- it doesn't defeat the laws of physics. If you have enough forward kinetic energy and too little lateral traction, you can't make the turn, no matter what computer's under the hood. All AWD and TCS systems do is moderate the user's control inputs to prevent the user from being able to tell the car to make the wheels spin. That way, when you're on the wet or snow, AWD makes the final decisions about what the wheels can or cannot do, and keeps the car under control.
Now back to the track... The computer has no idea that there's a turn coming up and you're going way too fast into it. The computer has no idea you're about to ask the wheels for 1.5g of lateral grip. All the computer knows is that the wheels aren't spinning, and therefore it's happy. When you do ask for that 1.5g of grip, there's absolutely nothing the computer COULD do short of dialing up Jesus.com and asking for a favor.
No computer could ever prevent THAT kind of driving mistake. AWD is actually a great system that I highly endorse. It does what it claims to do, and usually quite well. But it doesn't mean you can put any kind of control inputs you want into the car and it won't be possible to screw up.

They are just going WAY WAY too fast. But it does look like they could have slowed enough not to go up and over that bank of snow.
I think someone learned the hard way that video games and the real thing are slightly different.

You are so quick to attack something that you don't know crap about. read chroot's post thoroughly, 10 times just so it has a chance to sink in.
