At the rate things are going, anything on the market today should be the equivalent of an 8-track by 2015.

Good point. Unfortunately for most people (myself included) $1800 and up for a halfway decent set is a pretty expensive 8-track player.

Here's a short blurb about the falling prices: http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/showthread.php?t=558576
Remember when the early IBM PCs came out? My buddy paid $15,000 for one, and it's now a museum piece. TVs are going the same way, I think.
so i decided to get the sony wega lcd 60" instead.
but off topic, im planning on purchasing the BOSE acoustimass 10 surround sound system and was wondering, how do you install the wall brackets and feed the wires into the wall? are there any guides to this online? for wall mounting bose speakers or a guide for home theater setup?

I'd hate to burst your bubble on the purchase, but the Bose speaker system is HORRIBLE. I would rather invest in Pinnacle or my all time favorite Bang & Olfusen(if budget permits

Good choice on the SONY!IMO Bose is overrated. In their entire product lineup, the only one worth its price of admission is the iPod SoundDock.
There are less expensive speakers that are better and look better too IMO. And there are speakers that cost as much that are many times better, like B&O.
Yeah, Bose is more marketing hype than value for money. Find your local 'real' audio dealer (not Circuit City/Best Buy, etc) and see what you can get for your money.
There are some nice systems in the $500 range that will sound better than Bose.

i work for circuit city dont get the Bose 10 the sub is weak if u can get the 15 if they store still has it u might be able to get it open box at a great price since bose is dropping the 15 and starting up the 16 which is a 6.1.
Bose is kinda overrated we carry a infiniti system TSS750PLT runs about 699 and in alot of ways it does sound better than the bose 10 try listening to a couple of the systems if u can try and find a good small package without the sub so u can pick out a sub so u can get the bass u want instead of getting the bass your stuck with (like the bose 10 u have to use there sub)
TV wise it really doesn't matter what u get be it DLP or LCD the picture quality on all of them is all about the same when u get down to it go by what fits your space you can spend for ever saying this "but that tv looks slighty better" its all a matter of adjustments and sure some do look alittle better but at home when u dont have the comparison u won't know the difference
