I was hoping that I could go to a dealer where I am not on the list, and mention that my dealer is not allowing test drives in their demo. They are keeping it in the showroom for a predetermined amount of time, and then #1 on the list gets it for MSRP. I'm going to call all the other dealers to try and get a drive... Sure wish I could test the SMG!

67.7K for an M3 Coupe? P.T. Barnum was certainly correct. There is a sucker born every minute.
BTW, when recently in Europe, I had the opportunity of driving both the current and previous M3s (both were European-only models) at speed on the Autobahn and on road courses. The new M3 exhibited better low and (especially) mid-range acceleration and throttle response. Both models had similar top-end response. I must admit to being surprised at the considerable understeer dialed into the new M3's handling. At the limit, the previous M3 was more neutral with better rotational and steer-by-throttle characteristics. Steering input and feel also seemed slightly better in the previous edition. BMW seems intent on avoiding Audi's recent TT oversteer litigation troubles.

I bet insurance is going to be a real b-i-t-c-h! However, I guess it doesn't matter if you can afford the price of admission.

I would imagine the way the stock market is going, and the fact that everyone's options are underwater, that dealer adjustment will evaporate pretty soon.

Jeez, people still think the money is rolling in and everything will bounce back in the future. There has never been a sector in the market that rises to its former glory after the initial bubble bursts.

But one can pray . . .

Market Adjustment 15K ? hehe ... what an insult Basically this say's "you're a stupid putz with too much money for your own good so we're going to overcharge you". They're not happy with a profit .. it has to be exorbitant.

Stealthy_S2K took me to see the first M3 at a dealership here in Ann Arbor, and while the car is awesome, the color is hideous!

God, you know what you could do with extra $15,000? Get bigger wheels, turbo, exhaust, you name it.
