The problem with most of the past "greats" in film like Psycho and the shinning and the exorcist is that they were groundbreaking and shocking for their time but do not stack up with what we, as a people, need from scary movies nowadays.

Think about it...most "scary" TV shows deliver suspense on a level much higher than psycho does as far as today

I voted the exorcist. That kinda stuff can really happen. That's why it scares me.

"Night of the Living Dead" We went to the movie back in the fall 1971 tripping on Mescaline and had to walk home through a field of waist high and taller weeds...

definitely "it"! though like i mentioned in the previous scary movie thread, this movie is downright hilarious now. it did take me roughly 15 years to muster up the courage to watch it again, however, which is a testament to how good of a job it did in 1990 (i was 8)...haha

"IT" was crazy scary when i watched it when i was young. A few years i decided to see if it still gave me a good scare. But the whole time i was watching it i thought to myself how stupid that movie was.

i havent watched any good scary movies recently. The last scary movie i saw that i remember was texas chain saw massacre.
