Default Schumi calling it quits?

Sorry about the rough translation the article was in german and the only german i know is babelfish. I found this article on gmx.net.

Schumacher speaks of the career end

The 34 years old Michael Schumacher, which in the Eifel as a first pilot can break through the 1000-Punkte-Schallmauer, spoke before the large price of Europe on Sunday on the Nuerburgring about a possible career end.

"if I a daily a driver colleague have, who blows me from the distance, then it would be perhaps better to stop, than with all means against it to hold and to risk", the five times Formel-1-Weltmeister of the world said my life. "if I to my limit push and determine, hey, there can it someone better, that am not yet at its limit, then it would be to be said probably time: That was it."

But so far is still for a long time not it. While Schumacher, which extended its Ferrari contract recently with inserted door clause until 2006, made its thought plays public, the other three German pilots at their future tinker. The 27 years old BMW Williams pilot Ralf Schumacher (WM fourth with 33 points) assigned its manager Willi weber to negotiate at the Nuerburgring team head franc Williams. "momentary gives it however nothing new", said it.

The 36 years old Heinz Harald Frentzen drives to its 150 in the Eifel. Grand Prix, thinks however not yet of stopping. "I see myself momentarily as measuring pole for young pilots, who enter, describe into the formula 1" the Moenchengladbacher its role in the HP circus. Its ten years younger city and team colleague nod Heidfeld against it turns already rounds on the driver roundabout. "it is still somewhat early to talk about it. Like all other drivers I run naturally not with locked eyes by the area ", described the clean pilot on its homepage (www.nickheidfeld.de) the conditions of the things. "normally is it so that one talks with the team, at which one is under contract first. With me the McLaren Mercedes is added still on me has for the moment still that in September the option runs out finally. I try that McLaren before already lets me know, so that still sufficient time remains. I have for the moment contacts to several teams, can however still no concrete results report ", described Heidfeld. But it practiced self criticism: "I have only one WM point, that am much too few."

Differently Michael Schumacher: To its fourth season victory in Canada before brother Ralf in the BMW Williams comes the Kerpener with 999 total points into its 13. Formel-1-Jahr. As a WM front runner Schumi before the home Grand Prix has three counters projection/lead on its Finnish competitor Kimi Raeikkoenen in the McLaren Mercedes. "on certain way my racing career began on the Nuerburgring", meant Schumacher on its homepage (www.michaelschumacher.de). "it is difficult to explain, what really constitutes the difference of a home running, but is probably it this small part of extra motivation, you such running gives."

Particularly owing to Schumacher the Formel-1-Boom is unbroken in the structure-weak region, even if the number is this time not expected from the previous year with 350,000 spectators. Altogether 50,000 fans will come less into the Eifel. Again nearly 80 million euro are converted nevertheless, 15 million remain as profit in the region. In order to hold the Formel-1-Zirkus in the long term in the Eifel, the operators modified 5.148 km long distance course again for approximately 350,000 euro in some places - also when desired from Michael Schumacher. Besides they want to complain because of the tobacco advertising prohibition against the European union. "we are the opinion that it does not concern the European Union anything, who appears to ring managing director walter Kafitz with Formel-1-Rennen in Germany as a sponsor", said. Formel-1-Chef Bernie Ecclestone pleases that. It already promised to extend the 2004 running out contract.

Appreciate the F1 news but damn, that was like trying to read a English translation of a Japanese Tuner site.
Schu ain't going anywhere, especially with Alonso being the new kid on the block giving him some great competition (and JPM if BMW ever gets their act together). I suspect he'll drive another two years and reevaluate then. Men like Schumacher crave the thrill of the drive and it would be difficult I think for him to leave F1 that soon before 40 years of age.

"who blows me from the distance"

Whoa!

Yeah, i had to stop reading that because it was causing an aneurism...

I agree that Schumi has no reason to go anywhere until someone starts presenting him with regular challenges...

Hmm. Not quite sure where to move this one, but it definitely doesn't fit in "S2000 Talk."

Let's try OT. Moving there now....
