Of course the big question is WHY IN GOD'S NAME WOULD ANYONE WILLINGLY LIVE IN A PLACE LIKE THAT?

New Yorkers are insane!
What flies in ABC may not work in XYZ, or vice-versa.

Doormen also demand heavy tips at Xmas or they won't open the door for you during the year!
So are they out of a job if you open the door yourself.

How funny. You didn't tip me, I'm not opening the door for ya. Its your job mate. I could do it myself also. Seriously WTF!?

Guess they're doormen for a reason?

Alright, I'm threadjacking this sucker.

I just went back and edited my posts; I caught myself misspelling Manhattan 2-3 times.

Now, living in Man Jose, that's not a serious crime. . . except that in the last 2 years, I've now been there 5 f-ing times!!

YAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!

they've got a pretty strong union, and keep the supply of doormen appropriate. they generally don't have to worrry about keeping a job.

I hope I don't ever have a doorman! It's like the guy in the bathroom handing out paper towels!
I hate those guys. I don't tip them.

... and I've been waiting tables for 6 years and know what it means to tip. Bathroom attendants don't do anything worthwhile. Most of the time if I walk into a bathroom and see one, I'll just walk straight out because I don't want the hassle of dealing with them.
