Oban was the first scotch the I tried and liked and is still one of my favorites.

My favorites are Glenlevit for a enjoyable drink and The Macallan 25 y/o as a special occasion drink. Both are on the less smokey side.

I LOVE Islay malts the most. The smokey/peaty finish is the best. To that end I have to say the Lagavulin 16 y.o. is the best. Second is Laphroaig.

Count me as one (of probably a few) who thinks J.W. Blue label sucks. I hate that stuff...blech.

I have never tried a Scotch yet, but I would like to give it a shot. Anyone want to make a recomendation on a lower-priced one to try? I don't want to spend a fortune on my first bottle.
