I'm sure you know about this but ill say it anyway. On the macromedia website there is a place to download plugins, there may be one for search engines in there. I really dont think you need to buy software to accomplish what you are doing. I used to have a website that would show as the first hit with out doing anything real fancy.

i actually didn't know that. i'll check out the macromedia site for the plugin. for generic terms such as "auto warranty" or "wrestling" (a few clients utilize these), competition is, well, competitive and a high ranking is not gauranteed. just trying to increase the odds and profiting while doing so. i appreciate all the input and advice.

Here are some more specific tips I can offer you...

1. Figure out what keywords the client is trying to target. Get a good mix of general and more specific ones. General ones will result in more clicks but are low converters while the opposite is true for specific words.

2. Go to http://inventory.overture.com/d/sear...ry/suggestion/ and search for additional keywords.

3. In your page title, add some of the keywords in there, especially the more popular ones.

4. On the page, write some good content, while using these keywords within the copy. Its OK to repeat them a few times but be careful not to over do it or Google will nail you for keyword spamming.

5. Use keywords in H1, bold and alt image text tags.

6. Develop a good, robust site map.

7. Avoid link farms, black hat techniques that could get you black listed on Google. Once you're banned, theres no coming back.

yeah google dosnt think its funny when you have a page full of keywords. and get creative and try to hide them, like white text on a white background. they will figure it out.

One of the more interesting techniques google uses is the length that you register a domain name. They assume that the longer you register the domain, the more likely that it's a legitimate site.
