selling a car to a canadian - help
I am hopefully selling one of my extra cars to a guy from canada.
With all of the scams here and there I am trying to cover my ass and his the best that we can.
Anyone see any harm in him giving me a $500 deposit, then wiring $9000 to my bank...at that point I have the bank fed-ex him the signed title and I wait until his transport company picks up the car....
He says he may need a few weeks (like potentialy 5+ weeks) due to the funny way of getting loans, etc... in canada.????
Also, he originally wanted me to send the title after I received just half the $.... i was like... um...no....
There is no way to "fake" wire $ into a bank account is there? I know these funny stories about fake cashiers checks......
thanks
Scot

A wire transfer is a direct connection between two bank accounts, and the funds are transferred over super-secure transfers. As far as I know, there are no immediately accessible ways to fake a wire transfer. The sending account MUST have the funds, and the receiving account MUST receive before both accounts are changed to reflect the difference.
