Serious question about my head.
I'm certain not everyone that visits their physician for headaches undergoes an MRI. As far as the US spending more for health care, can you comment on why so many Canadians cross the border into the US to undergo tests, such as MR? Because they feel the wait of 6 months or more is a bit long to wait? The Canadian health care system is superior to the US?
I'd see a physician if it's persistent. The causes of headaches are quite an exhaustive list. A good clinician can, through proper history and physical and pertinent lab tests, help narrow down the causes and possible provide a proper treatment. It could be something simple, and since you are young it probably is, but if it's not then he/she may be able to find something dangerous and help resolve it before it get's out of hand.
Night time headaches could be secondary to hypoxia, possibly from sleep apnea, but it could also be a lot of other things.

Thanks, you guys! I'll drop by the city clinic on Monday and see what can be done. I'm sick of my family doctor, who happens to be my own uncle.
He'll just take my heart rate and send me to a specialist or hospital anyway.
Headaches, in my case, are a little different because they are very uncommon. It wouldn't be a big deal if I get them often, but I rarely ever got them before, so it's best to have the head checked out.
Again, thanks! And I hope I won't come back here with bad news, for my life can't afford anything bad at the moment.
