Serious question about my head.
For the past 2 weeks or so, I keep getting pounding headaches in the middle of the night (a few nights a week). Before then, I rarely ever got headaches. Should I worry? Should I go get an MRI? Is this one of the symptoms of a tumor? sigh....
why can't you just call your doctor and ask them? I mean, if I had migraines for two weeks straight, I wouldn't be posting asking for help on a car forum, I'd be calling my advice nurse!
before someone calls me out edit: I ask stupid questions on a car forum too so

Do you have a CO sensor in your house? Have you been painting, working with chemicals or maybe plants or dirt? Has anything changed environmentally recently? If you drink a glass of water before bed do you still get headaches? Have you been drinking a bit much? Taking any new meds or other pharma?
Calling a doctor is going to be pretty much useless until you can rule out non-medical causes. He'll tell you to take 2 aspirins and there is nothing wrong with you but you'll still get headaches.

I have Kaiser, and the advice nurses are extremely helpful when you have issues like this. And if you explain to them that it's more than "just a headache" they usually determine what it is, and refer you to either your PCP or another department for testing. Just my experiences though..

Thanks for the responses! I've determined that my family doctor is as useless as summer tires in the snow. I'll have to find another doctor, a good one this time. In the meantime, I usually go to a clinic or hospital if I feel the problem demands it, and this does. On Monday, I'll go.
But as for some of the questions, no more stress than usual; no drinking; no CO (do have a sensor); no painting; etc. Just pretty normal as before. HOWEVER, I've been taking biotin and vitamin B5 for my hair because I've just gotten a minor hair transplant about 2 months ago.
The result of the transplant thus far? Pretty much a waste of money, time, and pain.
P.S. Thanks, Sogno, for the email! Crossing my fingers it's not a tumor of some sort.
I do know someone who had a brain tumor taken out about a year ago, and it started out with headaches as well.

^ headaches are rarely caused by tumors. It could and probably is as simple as dehydration. Try drinking water an hour before bed and see what happens. Neither B7 or B5 have any role in it.
^ Thanks! I drink enough water and even at night too. This kind of headache I've never experienced before. It just hurts on the right temple, strictly. I'll go get an MRI just to be safe, but I do hope you're right.
